1962 Lockheed 1329 Jetstar, one of his three private jets, sold for $260,000 at auction elvis presley, on the day the King of Rock would have turned 88. The aircraft has been stored at Roswell International Air Center in New Mexico for nearly 4 decades. According to the auction site Elvis bought it aircraft on December 22, 1976, for $840,000. The jet, with room for nine passengers, is upholstered in wood, red velvet and gold details even on the windows. The retro 60’s atmosphere is completed by the media collection which includes a TV, audio cassette player and RCA video player. It has not been rebuilt and will need a new engine and cockpit to fly again.
According to the Robb Report the last owner of the aircraft was California businessman Jim Gagliardi, who bought it at auction in 2017 for $430,000 and had never visited it once.
