Eve, an Embraer company, formalized the process to obtain a Type certificate for the eVTOL (flying car model) project with the National Civil Aviation Agency (Anac).
With this, Eve makes official the commitment to demonstrate compliance with international technical standards and mandatory airworthiness requirements for certification.
With Anac’s support, Eve will continue to interact with the main foreign aeronautical authorities, soon formalizing the certificate validation process in accordance with its global business strategy.
“From the regulatory point of view, there is a lot of work to be done, not only in relation to the technology of the aircraft, but in the definition of the entire ecosystem”, says Roberto Honorato, superintendent of airworthiness at Anac.
Eve’s eVTOL is an all-electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft. According to Embraer, the aircraft, designed with a focus on users, will provide comfortable transport, with low noise and zero carbon emissions.
“The formalization of the eVTOL certification process is an important step towards the continuity of the discussions that have been taking place between Eve and ANAC towards the certification of the vehicle for urban mobility”, points out Luiz Felipe Valentini, technology director at Eve.
In December of last year, Eve and Australia-based Sydney Seaplanes announced a partnership to begin rolling out electric air taxi operations in the City of Sydney, with an initial order for 50 aircraft to be delivered from 2026.
