The composer and CEO of Laboratório Fantasma, Evandro Fióti, who is the brother of rapper Emicida, is accusing singers Juliette and Duda Beat of plagiarism after the release of the song “Magia Amarela”.
“I am outraged. I will explain the context of this appropriation, plagiarism and once again a lack of ethics in this market, coming mostly (but not only) from white people. And I reaffirm that this criticism is coherent and goes to the right place, I don’t want hate on top of Juliette or Duda”, Evandro published on his profile on X, formerly Twitter.
After the publication on X, Evandro opened a live on Instagram to explain his position.
“It took us 12 years to win a Grammy and the work that won us the Grammy was just stolen conceptually”, said the producer referring to the album “AmarElo”.
This Wednesday morning (18), Juliette shared an official note in which she states that the song is part of an advertising campaign.
“We inform you that the song ‘Magia Amarela’ is part of an advertising campaign and that Juliette was hired as one of the performers for this audiovisual work. The singer’s team is in contact with the contractors responsible for creating and producing the campaign for further clarification”, says the note.
In another post on his profile, Evandro suggests that the brand responsible for the campaign is Bauducco. “Congratulations on ‘Originality’ and ‘Diversity (…)”, says an excerpt from the caption that accompanies a print showing a group of people, including Duda Beat, and the background with the company’s logo.

At the time of publishing this article, Duda Beat had not commented. A CNN He contacted the singer’s and Bauducco’s representatives and is awaiting their position.
