Emiliano Sala: The man who organized the fatal flight pleaded guilty

One of the main suspects in the case that cost the life of the Argentine ace, Emiliano Sala, David Henderson, admitted today (18/10) before the court that he agreed to organize the flight that transported Sala even though the aircraft was not licensed to carry passengers.

The 66-year-old is facing criminal charges for negligence that could endanger the plane and for attempting to transport a passenger without a valid license. In the trial that started today (18/10) in Wales, he pleaded guilty to the second charge.

What he denies is that the pilot who eventually took over the flight, Andrew Ibotson, was not licensed for this type of aircraft and training to fly at night.

The trial began today in Cardiff, with the family of Emiliano Sala being absent from the proceedings.

What did the result of the accident show?

The little one A private plane carrying 28-year-old Argentine player and pilot David Ibotson crashed in the Channel Channel on January 21, 2019. The Nantes striker was going to Wales after being transferred to Cardiff. The player’s body was found more than two weeks after the accident, at a depth of 67 meters. The pilot’s body has not been found.

In its final report published in March 2020, volThe British Aviation Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) estimates that the pilot lost control of the aircraft during a maneuver performed at very high speed, “probably” to avoid bad weather to be able to fly to the spectacle.
