Emirates and AEGEAN announce the launch of a codeshare flight partnership, enabling their passengers to benefit from increased connectivity and travel to eight Greek domestic destinations via Athens, with a single ticket.
Through this partnership, Emirates facilitates the booking process for its passengers, while also maintaining a single baggage policy for flights to popular destinations such as: Alexandroupolis, Heraklion, Thessaloniki, Corfu, Mykonos, Rhodes, Santorini and Chania. AEGEAN, for its part, is further expanding its network and enabling its passengers to benefit from the increased connectivity of the Emirates network to international destinations via Dubai, with flights between Dubai and Athens operated by Emirates and short-haul flights to New York and Newark Airport. Passengers can make flight reservations through the airlines’ websites emirates.com and aegeanair.com, or through travel agents.
From October 2022, Emirates and AEGEAN will further strengthen their joint network, aiming to include eight additional European destinations for flights via Athens, including, among others, Bucharest, Belgrade and Naples, as well as routes involving Emirates flights from Athens to New York New York Airport and from Milan to New York JFK. Today, Emirates serves Athens with 12 weekly flights, operated by Boeing 777 aircraft. AEGEAN has a network of 138 destinations (29 domestic and 109 international) in 44 countries, as well as a fleet of 64 aircraft, including the brand new AIRBUS A320 and A321 neo. Additional codeshare flights are subject to regulatory approvals.
