Emma Stone I had no idea the internet thought she had insulted the presenter Jimmy Kimmel after his joke with the movie “Poor Creatures” at the Oscar ceremony.
In March, a cut of the moment in which the actress reacts to Kimmel's joke and says something to her husband began to circulate on social media and several internet users pointed out that she seemed to be calling the presenter a “cretin”, based only on lip reading and speculation.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Emma Stone didn't even understand the question on the topic and claimed not to have called Kimmel a “cretin”.
The reporter asked if she was really upset by Kimmel's joke at the Oscars, to which Emma returned the question, without understanding: “Did he upset me?”
After the situation was explained, Stone exclaimed, “No! I didn’t call him an asshole.”
“What I said? I didn't call him an asshole. I wasn't mad at him at all. I’ll have to look into that,” she added. “I am almost impossible to offend.”
Emma Stone won the Oscar for Best Actress for her performance as Bella Baxter in “Poor Creatures”, by director Yorgos Lanthimos.
