Emma Stone reveals what about “Poor Creatures” made her want to vomit

Emma Stone revealed what in “Poor Creatures” made her want to vomit. Nominated for an Oscar for Best Film, the film brings Bella Baxter a childish character, but with the body of an adult, who becomes increasingly independent and enthusiastic about his sexual experiences.

Emma Stone also received an Oscar nomination in the category of Best actress for her role as Bella Baxter in “Poor Creatures”. And, despite the several scenes of a sexual nature and with a lot of nudity, the actress stated that that was the easiest part – and that there were other more challenging scenes.

Bella Baxter's interpreter spoke about the film at a panel in Los Angeles last weekend and, during the conversation, described an eating difficulty she faced during filming that made her want to vomit.

“The hardest moments were some of Baxter's other emotions and quirks. Discovering how to walk or eat 60 Portuguese pastries, the first bite of which is delicious, but in the end I really want to vomit”, she said.

“Her seeing death and decay for the first time was a lot more challenging than nudity, which is the only thing people seem to want to ask me about,” he added.

“Poor Creatures” is by Greek filmmaker Yorgos Lanthimos, known for his work on “The Lobster” (2015), “The Sacrifice of the Sacred Deer” (2017) and “The Favorite” (2018).

In the plot, a woman is revived after suicide by a mad doctor who replaces her brain with that of her unborn baby. The cast also includes Mark Ruffalo (“The 30th” and “The Avengers”) and Willem Dafoe (“Spider-Man” and “The Lighthouse”).
