THE French chairman Emmanuel Macron said he was “shocked” today, the day after the death of a teenager who was killed by police, while the French government appealed for “calm” after a night of tension in its suburbs Paris. Widespread riots broke out yesterday and continued into the night in this western suburb of Paris after the death of 17 year old motorist by a policeman’s bullet for “refusing to comply”. The officer was taken into custody.

The victim, Mr Nael M., aged 17, succumbed to the wound he sustained in the chest.
