A woman was arrested last Monday (7) after presenting a false medical certificate to the manager of the supermarket where she worked. The case occurred in Itajaí (SC), about 100 kilometers from Florianópolis. According to the police, the employee had purchased the document for R$10.
A witness told police that, weeks ago, another employee was fired for the same reason, when he also presented a false certificate and informed his boss of the suspect’s name.
Police did not provide the name of the suspect or the supermarket where the incident occurred.
After the dismissal, the establishment’s human resources department began investigating the case and verified the document was false.
The police went to a hospital unit to check the veracity of the certificates and identified the doctor who would be responsible for issuing the documents.
To the police team, the professional reported that the certificate presented by the market employee was actually false and that on some dates stated in the document the doctor was not on duty.
When questioned, the author informed the police that she knew the certificates were false and that she bought from a man who lives in a neighborhood close to the market.
