The singer Anitta underwent, on the 20th, surgery to treat endometriosis — a disease that occurs when the endometrium, the mucosa that lines the inner wall of the uterus, grows in other regions of the body. Through social networks, she stressed the importance of access to the diagnosis of the disease and treatment, as well as the discussion on the subject.
O CNN Our World this Saturday (30) receives Dr. Mauricio Simões Abrão, associate professor at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the USP School of Medicine (FMUSP), to discuss women’s health and what care women should take throughout their lives.

In Brazil, eight million suffer from endometriosis. Abram, who is also head of the endometriosis sector at the Hospital das Clínicas at USP in São Paulo, believes that one of the ways to improve women’s health is the continuous advancement of research on the disease and minimally invasive surgery techniques.
