Registration for the National High School Exam (Enem) 2023 starts this Monday (5), remaining open until June 16. The process must be carried out through the participant page on the website of the National Institute of Educational Studies and Research (Inep).
The registration fee to take the test is R$ 85.00 and can be paid until June 21st. The tests will be applied on the 5th and 12th of November, with the gates opening at 12h and closing at 13h. The test must start at 1:30 pm, ending at different times on each application day.
The answer will be released on November 24, and the results will be announced on January 16, 2024.
As an Enem, it is possible to enter several universities through the Unified Selection System (Sisu) and initiatives such as the University for All Program (Prouni). Public and private educational institutions use the exam as a method of selecting students.
The test also serves for students to access government aid such as the Student Financing Fund (Fies). The result can also be used for selection processes in educational institutions in Portugal that have an agreement with Inep.
Any citizen who has completed high school or is in the last year of basic education can take the Enem to use it as access to higher education.
Those who haven’t completed high school can take the test as a “trainer”, serving as a self-assessment.
The National High School Examination was created in 1988, with the objective of evaluating the school performance of students at the end of basic education. It was from 2009 onwards that the methodology was perfected and the test began to be used as a mechanism for accessing higher education.
