Enem has questions about disaster in Mariana, Brazil Cup and electric cars

Students who took the National High School Exam (Enem) test this Sunday (28), found questions about the disaster in Mariana, which occurred in 2015, several items on energy and fuel use, in addition to a question of combinatorial analysis with a Brazil Cup table. Candidates take the Natural Science and Mathematics tests until 6:30 pm.

According to Gabryel Real, manager of Evaluation Processes at SAS Plataforma de Educação, this Sunday’s test did not bring surprises or controversial issues. “It was a test with Enem’s face, with problem situations, which required the ability to read a chart and with contextualizations related to the student’s life.”

Among the issues that drew attention was one in the Natural Sciences test that addressed the Mariana disaster, in Minas Gerais, in 2015, when a Samarco dam collapsed. “He talked about the impact of the disaster in Abrolhos, which is far away and asked to choose some of the local species that were affected by the waste.”

There were still several questions about energy and fuels. One of them addressed the issue of electric cars, highlighting the obstacle to the recharge time of these vehicles. Although the event brings up the issue of energy and fuels, according to Real, there was no explicit mention of global warming. There were also no questions about the Amazon Forest.

In Mathematics, students were faced with a question of combinatorial analysis that used a table from the Copa do Brasil, 2015. They also found Geometry items, as expected in Enem. “Twenty-one questions involved reading graphs and tables. It’s an expected skill for the Mathematics test and it was very recurrent.”
