Energisa’s revenue in the power transmission segment will more than double with the acquisition of Gemini Energy’s assets, announced on Thursday (17).
According to a presentation made this Friday (18), the group’s permitted annual revenue (RAP) will rise from R$ 313 million to R$ 676 million with the incorporation of three Gemini transmitters.
In a conference call, Energisa’s CFO, Maurício Botelho, stated that the transaction is in line with the company’s strategy to diversify its business beyond energy distribution.
For him, Gemini’s assets present potential synergies with transmission lots that will be offered in auctions, especially in Amapá and Pará, positioning the company more competitively in future disputes.
“We are not going to stop here, we are going to be attentive to the opportunities (in transmission)… One of the projects for the next auction is the duplication of a line that goes from Amapá to Pará, it is an opportunity”, he said.
Asked about potential liabilities related to the blackout of Amapá in the LMTE, one of the assets of Gemini that were acquired, the executive said that there is still controversy about the responsibility of the transmitter in this event.
