Energisa plans to install 1.7 GW of renewable generation by 2026

Energisa announced this Wednesday (29) that it plans to install 1.7 gigawatts (GW) of power in renewable energy plants by 2026, as part of its targets associated with the agenda of environmental, social and governance commitments ( ESG).

In a statement, the company also announced the objectives of, by 2026, decommissioning and decommissioning 171.7 MW in thermoelectric plants and providing clean and affordable energy to 55,000 consumer units located in remote areas affected by its concessionaires.

The Energisa group operates in energy distribution, generation and transmission, with a strong presence in the North and Northeast. In recent years, it has been investing in projects to bring photovoltaic solar energy to remote communities, far from conventional distribution networks, which today are served by diesel generation.

The company has, for example, an agreement with the Ministry of Mines and Energy to bring solar generation to communities in Acre, Rondônia, Tocantins and Mato Grosso.
