The A-5 energy auction, held this Friday (14), ended with the contracting of 22 new generation projects, totaling 557.45 megawatts (MW) of power and approximately R$ 2.95 billion in investments. , according to information from the Electric Energy Commercialization Chamber (CCEE).
In all, the event negotiated an average of 176.8 MW of energy, at an average price of R$ 237.48 per megawatt-hour, representing an average discount of 26.38%.
Of the 22 projects that won contracts, 11 are small hydroelectric plants, classified as PCHs and CGHs, in addition to a source plant with 48.4 MW of power.
For this auction, there was a requirement that 50% of the demand declared by the distributors be contracted in small hydroelectric plants, as provided for in law 14,182, which authorized the privatization of Eletrobras.
Three wind power projects, four photovoltaic solar plants, two thermal plants powered by sugarcane bagasse biomass and a thermal plant for the use of urban solid waste also won contracts in the event.
There was no negotiation for projects powered by coal or biogas.
The enterprises that sold energy at the auction should start supplying on January 1, 2027, with contractual terms ranging from 15 to 20 years, depending on the source.
On the buyer side, Cemig was the main buyer in the auction, responsible for 82% of the energy purchased. Celpa, a distributor in Pará controlled by Equatorial Energia, bought the remaining 18% of the energy traded in the auction.
