The US was accused today by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia of having created the gas supply crisis facing Europebecause they pushed European leaders to the “suicidal” step of cutting off their economic and energy cooperation with Moscow.
When asked what needs to be done to get the Nord Stream pipeline back up and running and sending natural gas to Europe, the Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova he told Reuters: “Listen, you’re asking me questions the answers to which even children know the answer: those who started it must stop it.”

“In the EU, political forces that play the role of provocateurs have come to power,” he added. “It’s completely suicidal, but it looks like they’re going to see it through,” concluded Zakharova.
