Energy prices ‘bite’ again – How the domestic balance is being shaped

Uncertainty that has re-emerged following statements by Putin about Russian gas pricing in rubles has sparked a resurgence in energy prices in recent days. The price of natural gas reached up to 117 euros / MWh, while today it has fallen to the level of 105 euros / MWh.

The new turmoil in gas prices is also affecting electricity markets across Europe, which are re-emerging in recent days. So for today the maximum price in the EU. is located in France with 272.79 euros / MWh, followed by Italy with 268.66 euros / MWh, Switzerland with 265.78 euros / MWh, Spain and Portugal with 262.85 euros / MWh and Slovenia with Croatia in 254.65 euros / MWh. In the Balkan region in Serbia the price is 248m5 euros / MWh, in Romania at 227.21 euros / MWh, in Bulgaria at 213.23 euros / MWh and in Greece at 240.32 euros / MWh.

Overall for March the average prices appear increased with
highest price to be presented in Italy with 318.9 euros / MWh, follows the
Switzerland with EUR 315.85 / MWh, Croatia and Slovenia with EUR 307.89 / MWh, the
Serbia with 306.65 euros / MWh and France with 304.1 euros / MWh. In Greece the
March average is 283.5 euros / MWh.

Finally, as for the domestic energy mix, it is as follows: Natural gas units 44.36%, RES 29.43%, imports 10.53%, lignites 8.9%, Hydroelectric 2.12%. It is noted that the minimum price in the Greek system is set at 145.97 euros / MWh while the maximum at 352.74 euros / MWh.
