the CEO of Deutsche Bank Stephan Wilken, said in an exclusive interview to CNN that the energy sector should grow in Brazil, which can benefit amidst the energy crisis that is plaguing the Europe due to Russian sanctions.
“Germany and Europe are trying to fight this economic and energy crisis with two measures, which I think are very interesting for Brazil. The first is the diversification of energy suppliers”, highlighted the executive.
Wilken recalled that the German energy minister was recently in Qatar to sign a long-term contract for the supply of gas to Germany, an action that aims to diversify the country’s imports, something that could extend to Brazil.
“Another interesting development is green hydrogen. Our chancellor traveled to Canada to negotiate closer collaboration between countries in the green hydrogen sector,” said the executive.
“But these two energy sources, gas and green hydrogen, are sectors in which Brazil is very strong with the natural resources we have here. Combined with the technology from Germany, I think it offers a good advantage for Brazil to grow”, he added.
