Enterprise Greece: Signs MoU with Panama Trade and Investment Bond

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the strengthening of economic and trade relations between Greece and Panama was signed on Wednesday, June 8, by the Hellenic Investment and Foreign Trade Company (ENTERPRISE GREECE) and the similar Trade Promotion Organization Panama, PROAMA.

Enterprise Greece was represented by the Secretary General of International Economic Relations and Extroversion of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and President of Enterprise Greece, Mr. Ioannis Smyrlis, while Propanama was represented by the General Director of PROPANAMA, Ambassador Carmen Gisela Vergara.

The aim of the MoU is to further strengthen the cooperation between the two countries, as well as to find a common field of synergies in the fields of energy, economy, technology, digital technology, logistics, exports of agri-food products and tourism. The two sides agreed that there is significant room for further strengthening of relations between Greece and Panama.

The President of Enterprise Greece, Mr. Ioannis Smyrlis, stated: “Greece and Panama can benefit from a closer cooperation, utilizing their strong ties in the shipping sector”. He added: “Today’s signing of the MoU confirms our desire to strengthen ties between the two countries and lays the groundwork for further cooperation in promoting and attracting investment, exports, trade, logistics, energy, agri-food sector, tourism and other sectors such as digital transformation and renewable energy sources “.

For her part, Ambassador Carmen Gisela Vergara, General Manager of PROPANAMA said: “This MoU contributes to the strengthening of trade and investment ties between Greece and Panama. PROPANAMA, working with Enterprise Greece, seeks to inform public for the plethora of investment opportunities in the digital sector and in shipping “.
