Erba massacre, yes to the review of the trial for Rosa and Olindo

Green light to review process for the Erba massacre: the Court of Appeal of Brescia has issued a summons for trial against Rosa and Olindo for the first hearing, which is set for March 1st.

Spouses were definitively sentenced by the Supreme Court to life imprisonment, on May 3, 2011 for the murder – which occurred on December 11, 2006 – of Raffaella Castagna, her 2-year-old son Youssef Marzouk, the child's grandmother, Paola Galli, and the neighbor Valeria Cherubini. The couple is serving their sentences.

But the Brescian judges have accepted the requests of the magistrate of the General Prosecutor's Office in Milan Cuno Tarfusser (who claimed that Olindo Romano and Rosa Bazzi were victims of a judicial error) and of the group of lawyers led by Fabio Schembri, according to whom new elements should lead to the review of the life sentence

«I am neither guilty nor innocent, I studied the documents and I repeat, aware of what I was doing, I wrote the request for review: yesand if I hadn't, I couldn't sleep anymore, I would no longer be at peace with myself, with my duty, with my ethics”, explained in an interview Cuno Tarfusser, who ended up under disciplinary proceedings because he allegedly circumvented the internal hierarchy of his office. According to him, the trial that led to the conviction of Rosa and Olindo would have been conditioned by media exposure and the rush to close the investigations.
