They had a short foursome just before they started negotiations in Istanbul between the envoys of Russia and Ukraine Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan and Russian oligarch Roman Abramovich.
Their meeting that took place on Tuesday (29/3) did not go unnoticed at all and was discussed a lot as apart from a few conversations he had a friendly blow on the arm but also an awkward reaction.
“From here we expect good news,” Erdogan told Roman Abramovich and patted him friendly on the arm.
The Russian billionaire, according to the SKAI report and as the correspondent of the TV station in Turkey said, seems to be quite collected and rather embarrassed and nods positively to the Turkish president.
According to unconfirmed information, Erdogan and Abramovic had a private meeting early Tuesday morning, before negotiations began.
SKAI’s correspondent in Turkey, Manolis Kostidis, pointed out that Abramovich did not represent only the Russian side in the negotiations, but mainly the Russian business world, which is losing a lot of money due to the invasion and war in Ukraine and the sanctions imposed.

Abramovich has been reportedly coming and going between Russia and Moscow for a month, while he has his own boats in Turkey, as the country does not impose sanctions on Russian oligarchs.
