THE Recep Tayyip Erdogan gave an interview and attacked the senator Bob Menendeznoting that he has a hostile attitude towards Turkey, while he mentioned that his country has an ancient friendship with Greece.
The Turkish president spoke at American channel PBS and commenting on the US Senator’s claim that “Turkey should end its warlike behavior against Greece”, he said that “the Bob Menendez doesn’t know Turkey. It seems Menendez doesn’t even know Tayyip Erdogan».
He also noted that “Menendez seems to have a hostile approach towards Turkey and is trying to drag us into a specific field of discussion that he has chosen. However, we will not participate in this. Our friendship with Greece is not what they think».
Also, commenting on relations with the West and Russia, he said that “we have been waiting at the door of the European Union for the last 50 years… Now I trust Russia as much as I trust the West».
