Erdogan: ‘From America to Siberia, the borders of our hearts’

“The borders of our state are different and the borders of the heart of our people are completely different,” Erdogan said in a statement yesterday.

According to SKAI, the Turkish president stressed that “the borders of our state extend from the East to the West, from Edirne to the city of Kars, from the north to the south, from Sinop to Hatay. But its borders “From the heart of our people they reach from Europe to the farthest reaches of Asia, as from Siberia to the depths of Africa, they cross the oceans and reach as far as America.”

“As Erdogan noted, no one can deny that we have close and sincere ties with our brothers who live in geographical areas where we have a common history and culture.”

The rhetoric against Greece was continued by the Minister of Defense of Turkey, Hulusi Akar, who claimed that Greece is militarizing the islands.

“In the problems we live with Greece, we are millions of times right. There is no other country in the world with territorial waters within six miles and airspace at 10. 16 islands have been militarized despite the Treaty of Lausanne,” he said.

Continuing in the same climate, he stated that “Greece continues the provocative actions and the provocative rhetoric, while in some periods it increases them. With the armaments, Greece comes under a great economic burden. “An effort of armaments will bring weight and cause harm to the Greek people. If they do armaments for Turkey they are few, if they do it for defense reasons they are many.”

According to SKAI, on the issue of the supply of F-16, Mr. Akar stated that, “this issue as well as their modernization is a long process and we expect a positive result. Will it end positively? Maybe. But for sure? No. “We are closely monitoring the process. If we buy new F-16s, our Air Force will be seriously relieved until our National Fighter is built.”
