Erdogan: Israel is not behaving like a state in the Gaza Strip

Israel is not behaving “as a state” in the Gaza Strip, where the Israeli army launched new raids today in retaliation for bloody attack launched by Hamas, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said today.

“Israel must not forget that if it behaves as an organization rather than as a state, it will end up being treated as such,” said the Turkish head of state, denouncing the “disgraceful methods” of the Israeli army.

“Bombing civilian communities, killing civilians, blocking humanitarian aid and trying to present these as achievements can only be the reaction of an organization and not a state,” insisted the Turkish president, who usually uses the term “organization ” to describe the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), which is considered a terrorist organization by Ankara and its allies in the West.

“We believe that war must have a morality and that both sides must respect it. Unfortunately, this principle is being seriously violated in Israel and Gaza,” he added, denouncing the “killings of civilians on Israeli soil” as well as “the blind slaughter of innocents in Gaza subject to constant bombardment”.
