Erdogan on diplomatic crisis over Kavala: Ambassadors ‘backtracked’

Canada, the Netherlands and New Zealand each sent a similar message, while Norway and Finland reposted the US message on Twitter.

“They will be more careful in the future”

Furthermore, Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated that the ambassadors of the western countries will be more careful in their statements from now on.

The Turkish president made this statement after the cabinet meeting, according to the APE BPE.

“Our intention was not to provoke a crisis,” Erdogan said, “but to protect Turkey’s rights.”

Turkey’s judiciary “does not take orders from anyone,” Erdogan insisted, saying he “could not tolerate a group of ambassadors giving him orders.”

Finally, he argued that no one can stay in Turkey if he does not respect the country.
