The president of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan submitted today to the National Assembly a bill to ratify Sweden’s accession to the NATOannounced the Turkish presidency.
“Sweden’s accession protocol to NATO signed on 23 October 2023 by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and was sent to the Great National Assembly”, according to the presidency’s post on platform X.
No other details are given in the announcement.

Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristerson today welcomed Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan’s submission to the Grand National Assembly of a bill to ratify Sweden’s application for NATO membership.
“Now it’s up to the parliament to deal with the issue,” Christerson said on social media platform X. “We look forward to joining NATO.”
