President Tayyip Erdogan told Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Arakzi today that the reopening of talks between Iran and the US on Tehran’s nuclear program is the only way to achieve a solution in the controversy with Israel, the Turkish presidency said. Erdogan met with Arakzi on the sidelines of the Conference of the Islamic Cooperation Organization in Istanbul. In the same announcement, his office stressed that Erdogan said that Israel should stop immediately. The Turkish president reiterated his country’s readiness to play a role in serving the process and to help continue nuclear talks, adding: “steps must be taken as soon as possible to open diplomacy at a technical level, but also at the level of leaders between Iran and the US.”
