Erdogan: ‘Turkey is not captured, our nation does not kneel’

“We have shown friends and foes that Turkey can never be captured and the Turkish nation can never kneel,” Tayyip Erdogan said in a taped speech on the 6th anniversary of the failed 2016 coup attempt.

As TRT reports, the Turkish president began his speech by saluting “every citizen who protected the homeland, the flag and the nation’s independence with the utmost care and bravery that night.”

The supreme significance of July 15 is that it has become the symbol of our nation’s first and glorious resistance against the coups it suffered throughout its history, Mr. Erdogan emphasized.

“Such events take their place as harbingers of change and progress in the history of nations,” he said, adding: “From now on, Turkey’s history will be divided into two periods: before and after July 15, proving without a doubt the power of of our democracy and the strength of our nation”.

“With the launch of the coup, we mobilized all the legal and administrative power of our country to root out the traitors and the structure that produced them. We continue to take all the necessary measures to ensure that our country is not exposed to such again threat,” he said.

T. Erdogan noted that “the Turkish Republic will keep alive the spirit that suppressed the coup attempt on July 15, 2016”.

“As a state and as a nation, we have not yielded to the invaders with the glorious resistance we have shown, without resignation or hesitation, and have won yet another blessed victory,” he added.
