Erdogan wants to see Fake State official member of Turkish-speaking Council

Turkey hopes to see the occupied territories of Cyprus among members of the Council of Turkish-Speaking Countries, the Turkish president said on November 12th.

“I have confidence in your valuable support for easing the isolation and the embargo against the Turkish Cypriots, who are an integral part of the Turkish-speaking world. [χρησιμοποιείται ο όρος turkic]”Recep Tayyip Erdogan told the leaders of the Turkish-speaking countries during the eighth summit of the Council in Istanbul.

Stressing Turkey’s determination to fight “all forms of terrorism”, such as that of the Gulenists (FETÖ), in the alleged failed coup in 2016, as well as those of the PKK / YPG and ISIS, Erdogan called on leaders to strengthen cooperation on this issue. He added: “We must act together in the fight against Islamophobia and xenophobia, which is the scourge of our time.”

The Turkish leader awarded the Medal of Honor to the Turkic-speaking world to his Azerbaijani counterpart for the country’s efforts to liberate the territories of Nagorno-Karabakh in a 44-day conflict last year.

Stressing the importance of co-operation on climate change and digitalisation, Erdogan said Turkey’s largest aerospace and technology meeting, Teknofest, would take place in Azerbaijan next year.

Erdoγan and the leaders of the Turkic Council Cooperation Council attended the official inauguration ceremony of the council’s secretariat building in Istanbul on November 2nd.

Meanwhile, Erdogan met with the leaders of the member states at the secretariat office in the Sultanahmet district ahead of the 8th Turkish-speaking Council Summit.

The ceremony was attended by the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, the President of Kazakhstan Kasim-Zomart Tokayev, the President of Kyrgyzstan Sadir Japarov and the President of Uzbekistan Savkat Mirziyoyev.

Also present was Prime Minister Viktor Orban, who represented Hungary as an observer state.
