Erdogan warns of immigration to Europe because of Israel’s conflict with Iran

Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan has warned that Israeli attacks on Iran are in danger of launching a wave of immigration to Europe during a telephone conversation with German Chancellor Friedrich Mertz. “Our president has said that the impact of this escalation of violence launched by Israeli attacks could harm the region and Europe in terms of migration and that there is a possibility of nuclear leakage,” the Turkish presidency said in a statement. Turkey, which is sharing common borders with Iran 500 kilometers, has not, however, recorded an increase in arrivals from Iran in the last week. “The conflict that began with Israel’s attack on Iran is a major threat to regional security,” Erdogan added during his conversation with Mertz asking a return to the negotiating table.
