Erdogan: We will not forgive those who call the 2016 coup staged

Recep Tayyip Erdogan at an event marking the eighth anniversary of the 2016 military coup attempt said: “we remember with great pride the epic struggle of our nation that stood with its bare hands against tanks and weapons that spewed death.” The Turkish president, accompanied by his wife Emine, attended the memorial ceremony held at the monument to the fallen, at the Asian exit of the first Bosphorus bridge, where 34 civilians who resisted the military units that had been deployed died on the night of the coup at the bridge.
