Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan said it is impossible to meet with Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis until the Greek leader “comes to his senses,” NTV television reported on Friday, Reuters reported.
“Let’s let him come to his senses. As long as he doesn’t come together, it’s not possible for us to meet,” Erdogan told reporters on his return from a NATO summit in Madrid.
“It is obvious how they are currently militarizing the islands. On the other hand, they are constantly violating our airspace. Will the one who aligns with us now provoke us by violating our airspace?”, Erdogan stressed, adding that “he has no good intentions (s.s. Kyriakos Mitsotakis). He would not have taken these steps if he had good intentions”.
It is recalled that the Turkish president during yesterday’s press conference in Madrid, at the end of the NATO summit, stated that Greece violated the Turkish airspace 147 times, and must be held accountable for it, while issuing threats to Sweden and Finland.
According to the news agency, it was not clear in what period of time the alleged violations occurred.
