ERGOSE: 190 km of line in the northern part of the Athens – Thessaloniki – Promachonas axis were delivered to OSE

As part of the completion of the project Reconstruction and Upgrading of the signaling system – remote control and Replacement of 70 track changes in localized sections of the axis Athens – Thessaloniki – Promachonas “were handed over to OSE for use of 190 km line in the northern part of the axis, fully equipped with modern railway systems .

The completion of the signaling project and the ETCS, in the northern independent part of the railway axis Platy – Promachonas, has as a result the significant enhancement of the safety of the railway movements in commercial and passenger routes.

Specifically, after carrying out the planned tests, the administrative receipts for use were carried out, with the signing of protocols between ERGOSE, OSE and the contractor “Consortium TOMI SA – ALSTOM Transport SA” of the signaling systems. of the section ΤΧ1 (Thessaloniki) – Strymonas – Bastion and the remote control system for the whole axis Platy – ΤΧ1 – Bastion and ΤΧ1 – ΤΧ5.

Now, in the respective parts of the axis, the installed ETCS on-line system (Automatic Train Protection System) is to be used by OSE, which has been installed under the contract “Supply of ETCS Level 1 Line System with Related Services”.

In particular, a protocol was signed between ERGOSE, OSE and the contractor consortium “K / X TERNA SA – THALES RAIL SIGNALLING SOLUTIONS GESMB” for the delivery of a terminated ETCS section to the Platy – TX1 line sections, length 38 km and TX1 7 km long, but also delivery protocol for test operation of the section ΤΧ1 – Bastion, length 145 km.

It is emphasized that with the completion of all the works on the railway axis Athens – Thessaloniki that the travel time will be reduced to 3:15 ‘from 3:57’ which is today.
