ERGOSE’s planning for the implementation of key infrastructures that upgrade the country’s railway network is progressing with steady steps.
Today, with the signing of the relevant contract, the major signaling project on the railway line “Thessaloniki – Eidomeni” enters the implementation process.
Specifically, the project contract was signed for the installation of a modern signaling system in the section Thessaloniki – Eidomeni and the replacement of 37 track changes for the needs of signaling, priced at 40,973,034.12 euros, plus VAT.
The contractor of the project was “UNION AVAX – ALSTOM”. The selection of the contractor for the construction of the project was carried out in accordance with the open procedure of article 264 of law 4412/2016 and under the conditions defined by this law.
The physical object of the project concerns a series of works, such as:
– installation of a new signaling system – electronic type remote control, which will replace the existing system with relays
installation of ETCS L1 track-side system throughout the section
– signal security of the lateral protection of the open line of the section Polykastro – Peonia – Eidomeni
– replacement of 37 track changes with new ones, in located stations of the department, for the proper operation of the signaling system
– installation of 4 new track changes and construction of new bypass line, approximately 2,275 km long, in the area of Mikro Dasos
installation of electric heating of track changes in the stations of that section
– installation of passive fiber optic network, for the transmission of signaling and electrification data, as well as telecommunication network, for the needs of voice communications
– installation of electric drive in the new bypass in the area of the Small Forest
It is noted that the construction period of the project is 36 months, while an additional 36-month period of mandatory maintenance is provided after completion.
Regarding the signing of the contract, the President and CEO of ERGOSE Mr. Christos Vinis noted: “ERGOSE is rapidly completing infrastructure that significantly upgrades the railway network.
