The last important step for the implementation of the upgrade project of the Larissa-Volos line, which has been auctioned by ERGOSE, was completed with the signing of a concession contract to OSE of the right of surface area, which is necessary for the start of the project. – The conditions are created for the interconnection of the railway network with the Port of Volos.
After the signing of the concession agreement, the President and CEO of ERGOSE Mr. Christos Vinis noted: “For the past two years, the Management of ERGOSE has focused on the final resolution of issues that for years delayed the implementation of the country’s railway upgrade projects. Today’s signing of the concession of the relevant area is another example of the role of ERGOSE in unlocking and proceeding with important projects. The electrification installation is indicative of the fact that ERGOSE plans the future of the Greek railway based on the principles of sustainability and with the aim of reducing of its environmental footprint and the continuous production of added value for the transport sector of people and goods in our country “.
