Erik Jensen from “The Walking Dead” diagnosed with stage 4 cancer

The actor Erik Jensen known for playing Dr. Steven Edwards on the series “The Walking Dead”, was diagnosed with stage 4 colorectal cancer.

His family revealed the news in a post on the GoFundMe platform, which is an American website for crowdfunding.

“After miraculously surviving a brain aneurysm just a year and a half ago, our beloved Erik Jensen has just been diagnosed with severe stage IV colorectal cancer (shooting a movie while undergoing chemotherapy, working full time as a director and screenwriter) and his doctors think they have a chance to shrink the tumors enough to do two very major surgeries and remove them all. He can survive. But Erik and his family will face the fight of their lives and they need your support,” they wrote.

Specifically due to the strikes in Hollywood and Jensen’s previous aneurysm, the actor and his family are facing financial difficulties and hence the virtual appeal. The intention is to raise around US$300,000 (at current prices, R$1,497,000) to help pay for treatment and household bills.

On the social network X, formerly Twitter, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who plays Negan in the series, joined his family to ask for fan support.

Jensen also has prominent work on series such as The Blacklist, Mr. Robot and Mindhunter.
