ESEE: Between 67.70 and 95.20 euros the cost of the Easter table

“Strongly inflated” are the prices for the Easter table, according to a survey by the Institute of Commerce and Services of the Hellenic Confederation of Commerce and Entrepreneurship (IN.EMY – ESEE) and its cost is estimated to range between 67.70 and 95, 20 euros.

“The cost of the Easter table seems to be very high from 13.1% to 19.2%, but a range that also outlines the variety of choices consumers have,” the statement said.

Specifically, the Institute of ESEE again this year proceeded to the estimation of the cost of the Easter table, through on-site pricing from large chains of super-markets as well as from specialized food stores, but also from the Varvakeio market.

It should be borne in mind that the cost estimate for the 2022 Easter table is attempted in the context of a highly fluid framework, as price changes are very frequent.

INEMY-ESEE estimates that the cost will range between 67.70 and 95.20 euros. Compared to 2021, the cost of the Easter table seems to be very high from 13.1% to 19.2%, but a range that also outlines the variety of choices that consumers have.

Prices are strongly inflated even in relation to the end of December 2021 when IN.EM.Y. of ESEE had estimated the cost of the Christmas table.

Indicatively, the prices of lamb increased in the last four months by 17.1%, lettuce by 17.5%, soft drinks by 19% etc.

Delays in the full recovery of the supply chain, uncertainty from the war in Ukraine and, above all, the spike in international energy and food prices have a strong aggravating impact on the price level.
