Eshkol Nevo and Denise Tantucci have one thing in common: he wrote Three floors, a novel released by Neri Pozza, in Italy, five years ago, and which Nanni Moretti has decided to turn into a film, his first film based on a non-original subject. Denise starred in this movie.
Al Vanity Fair Stories they met and the conversation starts right from the Cannes Film Festival last July, where the two met for the first time and where Denise harassed the writer, for a long time columnist of Vanity Fair, with questions about her novels. For his part, Nevo tells how he feels very lucky that his first adaptation was made by Nanni Moretti and therefore how he felt happy in Cannes.
Denise Tantucci, on the other hand, recounts what a challenge it had been to play the character of Charlotte, a teenager who seduces Lucio in the film, a character played by Riccardo Scamarcio. The novel, like the film, thus tackle the theme of consent. Which according to the actress is not so much a question of age, but of the culture of a country. Nevo agrees, and explains the complexity of the character he created. The story of Three floors, as he explains, speaks of complicated relationships and highly stratified characters, also because the writer has a psychological background and is the son of psychologists: even the place from which he connects is a psychological study and in fact, he shows us a box of kleenex with a smile.
