Esselunga becomes a friend of sport

After having distributed over 118 million euros to Italian schools, the program School friends of Esselunga also extends to the world of sport and becomes Friends from school and sports. In the first 8 years of the program, Esselunga donated teaching materials and IT equipment to 14,000 institutions, delivering more than 500,000 products. From this year it expands its support to the world of sport, allowing amateur sports clubs, recognized by CONI, the Italian National Olympic Committee and by CIP, the Italian Paralympic Committee, to obtain sports equipment and materials free of charge.

From 11 September to 19 November by shopping in Esselunga stores or through the website esselungaacasa.it it will be possible to obtain vouchers Friends of School and Sport which each customer will be able to choose to allocate to an educational institution or, new to this edition, to one of the sports clubs among those that will join the program.

This expansion is a way to concretely meet the needs of the many amateur sports entities present in the territory represented at the presentation by the president of Coni Giovanni Malagò, Antilai Sandrini, athlete of the Italian Breaking national team, Emanuele Lambertini fencer of the Italian Paralympic national team, world champion of team foil and Tommaso Marini world champion of foil in Milan 2023.

By collecting vouchers, sports clubs and schools will be able to choose instruments from a catalog full of quality prizes covering team and individual sports such as balls, goals, baskets, dance equipment, martial arts, weights, obstacles, sports clothing. The chosen articles are useful for education, physical exercise and competitive activity in different sports, with the aim of creating an inclusive context in which athletes can participate in training in a proactive and stimulating way.

With Friends from school and sports Esselunga strengthens its collaboration with CONI and CIP and continues on a path aimed at valorising Italy’s sport sealed by partnerships with Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games Milan Cortina 2026 and with the FIGC. As always, Italian nursery schools, primary schools, first and second level secondary schools, municipal nursery schools registered with the Chambers of Commerce on 1 June 2023 can participate.

Esselunga customers who shop by presenting the Carta Fìdaty from 11 September to 19 November 2023 will receive one voucher every 25 euros or 50 Strawberry Points which they can donate to schools or sports clubs.
