Ethanol price drops in 16 states, says ANP

Average prices of hydrous ethanol fell in 16 states last week, according to a survey by the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP) compiled by AE-Taxas.

Biofuel has appreciated in value in 10 states and the Federal District.

At the stations surveyed by the ANP across the country, the average price of ethanol dropped 0.75% in the week compared to the previous week, from R$4.910 to R$4.873 per liter.

In São Paulo, the main producer and consumer state with more stations evaluated, the average price dropped 0.64%, from R$ 4.556 to R$ 4.527 per liter.

Roraima was the unit of the Federation with the highest percentage decline in prices in the week, 4.12%, from R$ 6,286 to R$ 6,027 a liter.

The minimum price recorded in the week for ethanol at a service station was R$ 3.89 a liter, in São Paulo, and the lowest state average price, of R$ 4.493, was registered in Mato Grosso.

The highest state average price, R$ 6.503, was observed in Rio Grande do Sul, which also recorded the highest price, R$ 7.89 per liter.

In the monthly comparison, the average price of biofuel in the country fell by 6.72%. The state with the highest percentage drop in the period was São Paulo, with 8.43% of monthly ethanol devaluation.
