Ethereum Support Appears On Amazon Managed Blockchain Service

Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud computing platform has added Ethereum support to Amazon Managed Blockchain. Now users can launch nodes and use them to connect to the network of the second largest cryptocurrency from the Amazon service.

“With this launch, AWS customers will be able to easily provision nodes in minutes and connect them to the public Ethereum mainnet, as well as testnets such as Rinkeby and Ropsten,” the company writes. – Amazon Managed Blockchain allows customers to securely organize networks, perform encryption at rest and during data transfer, gain secure access to the network through the standard open source Ethereum API, quickly and reliably synchronize with the Ethereum blockchain, and use durable flexible memory for registry data “.

Amazon launched blockchain services in 2019. With AWS, users don’t have to build their own hardware and software resources to run the nodes. You can create access control certificates and change network settings at the same time. Amazon Managed Blockchain also supports Hyperledger, a limited-access blockchain based on a closed consortium of companies or organizations.

AWS notes that Amazon Managed Blockchain monitors the state of nodes, replaces failing ones and automatically updates software, increasing the availability of the Ethereum infrastructure for users.

“In addition to DeFi applications, customers building analytics products such as smart contract monitoring tools and fraud detection software can also take advantage of this scalable, highly available and fully managed Ethereum service,” adds Amazon.

The Ethereum network has over 8,350 consensus and security nodes. A large number of nodes in different geographic regions keep the network secure and stable. The number of Ethereum nodes is expected to increase thanks to the Amazon Managed Blockchain. However, nodes installed centrally in the cloud of a third-party service provider tend to fail simultaneously when an outage occurs on the company side, so they cannot completely replace users’ own nodes.
