EtherPoW announces plans to launch the network after the completion of the Ethereum merger

The EtherPoW team has announced that the launch of the ETHW network is planned no later than 24 hours after the completion of the Ethereum merger. For ease of control, a countdown timer will be started.

According to the EtherPoW Twitter post, the timer will become viewable 1 hour before launch. All additional information, including node information, configuration files, and RPCs, will be made public after the timeout.

The countdown will start at The Merge block plus an additional 2,048 empty blocks “to ensure the chain ID successfully switches to 10001 and the chain is the longest ETHW chain.”

Thus, merger block 2049 will be the first block in the ETHW network that can contain any transactions. The ETHW hashrate is expected to be around 15 Tx/s during the launch phase.

In addition, the EtherPoW team notified the community that the complete ETHW node data and instructions for creating your own nodes have become available for download on the network services of the project.

EtherPoW will continue to support Proof-of-Work (PoW) mining. The fork was initiated by one of the largest players in the Chinese mining ecosystem, Chandler Guo.
