The European Union proposes the imposition of a 25% duties on a range of US products, in response to duties imposed by US President Donald Trump on steel and aluminum, according to a document cited by the Reuters agency. Duties on some products will come into force on 16 May and others later, until December 1st. These goods are varied, from diamonds to dental floss, sausages, nuts and soy. Earlier, Commissioner Maros Shefkovic said the countermeasures would have a lesser impact than the 26 billion euros previously announced. According to the agency, Berbon, wine and dairy have been removed from the original list of products for which the European Commission was investigating the possibility of duties. Trump threatened 200% of European alcoholic beverages if Brussels was proceeding with this plan. Source: RES
