EU Commission presents plan to raise up to € 800 billion to finance recovery

The Budget Commissioner of the European Union (EU), Johannes Hahn, announced on Wednesday a strategy to raise up to € 800 billion in debt for the recovery fund, which is expected to be repaid in 2058.

Additional comments:

“The EU will use a diversified financing strategy to raise up to € 800 billion by 2026“.

“The loans will include green bonds and EU bonds.”

“Loans for an approximate average value of 150,000 million euros per year will be reimbursed in 2058”.
