EU Council approves fourth tranche of € 500 million to support Ukrainian Armed Forces

The EU Council announced today that it has approved a fourth tranche of EUR 500 million to further support the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

The EU has already approved three tranches of support totaling € 1.5 billion this year. The fourth tranche will add EUR 500 million to the resources already mobilized under the European Peace Facility (EPF) for Ukraine, bringing the total to EUR 2 billion. The aim is to further support the capabilities and resilience of the Ukrainian Armed Forces to defend the country’s territorial integrity and sovereignty and to protect the civilian population from the ongoing Russian military offensive.

The range of equipment to be provided in the new support package is in line with current priorities, as expressed by the Ukrainian government.
