EU court condemns Greece for flood risk management plans

Greece is condemned for the first time by the European Union Court for its omission to inform plans to manage flood risk management in the country’s 14 aqueous apartments. The European Commission appealed before the Court on May 17, 2024, because it found that Greece did not comply with the deadlines for reviewing and updating the management plans of the basins and the flooding risk management plans in its 14 aquatic apartments: Peloponnese, Western Central Greece, Epirus, Attica, Eastern Central Greece, Thessaly, Western Macedonia, Central Macedonia, Eastern Macedonia, Thrace, Crete and the Aegean Islands.
