The European Union will hold an international donors’ summit on May 5 to ensure “Ukraine’s victory” in the war with Russia, European Council President Charles Michel said in Kyiv on Wednesday.
“We are determined to do everything we can to support Ukraine because we want Ukraine to win,” Michel said during a joint news conference with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
He clarified that the summit will be organized with the support of the European Commission, the 27 Member States and other international actors.
The purpose of this European initiative is to raise donations to support Ukraine’s economy and to rebuild and recover after the war is over, Charles Michel added.
