The European Union (EU) has said in a statement that it has denied the allegations in a statement issued Friday stating “Similar, baseless allegations concerning Russia’s nuclear program have been made more than once.
“The credibility of the information provided by the Kremlin is generally very questionable and low,” said Peter Stano, the European Commission’s foreign policy chief.
“Russian misinformation has a history of promoting manipulative narratives about biological weapons and alleged ‘secret laboratories,'” he said, adding that the EU was not aware of any Ukrainian laboratories that were not in line with international law.
In recent days, Russia has accused Ukraine of trying to develop biological weapons. Today, the Kremlin said that Washington should give explanations for “Ukrainian biological weapons laboratories”.
A Ukrainian presidential spokesman said: “Ukraine categorically denies any such allegations.”
