EU: Restrictions on Yanukovych for his role in Russian attack on Ukraine

The Council of Ministers imposes restrictive measures on the former President of Ukraine Viktor Fedorovich Yanukovych and his son.

In particular, the relevant announcement states: The Council of Ministers decided to impose restrictive measures on two additional individuals in response to the ongoing unjustified and unprovoked Russian military attack against Ukraine.

Added the pro-Russian former President of Ukraine Viktor Fedorovich Yanukovych and his son, Oleksandr Viktorovich Yanukovych, to the list of persons, entities and bodies subject to restrictive measures for their role in undermining or threatening the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine Ukraine and the stability and security of the state. Regarding the case of Oleksandr Viktorovich Yanukovych, it also concerns the conduct of transactions with the separatist groups in the Donbass region of Ukraine.

The relevant legal acts have been published in the Official Journal of the EU.
