EU: Turkey accepted invitation to Prague meeting, official says

H Turkey accepted the invitation to the European Political Community meeting on October 6 in Prague, a European official said.

In the letter of invitation to the “27”, the President of the European Council Charles Michel had pointed out that “with the dramatic consequences of Russia’s war affecting European countries on many fronts, we agreed to establish the European Political Community with the aim of bringing together countries of the European continent and providing a platform for political coordination” adding that “the ambition is to bring leaders together on an equal footing and promote political dialogue and cooperation on matters of common interest so that, together, we can work to strengthen the security, stability and prosperity of Europe as a whole.”

He had also stated that issues such as peace and security, the economic situation, energy, the climate and migration and mobility would be discussed, while no official written result of the European Political Community was foreseen, according to the Athens News Agency.
